Rotation Custom Scheduling (Advanced Scheduling)
Member Types:

Use Custom Scheduling (formerly Advanced Scheduling) to provide additional details on the exact days and times of a rotation. Custom scheduling allows coordinators to add additional rotation dates, remove scheduled dates, and adjust shift times.

IMPORTANT: Before making changes to a rotation schedule, including adding, removing, or modifying shift dates or times, please coordinate with your clinical partner to ensure the changes are approved.

When to use Custom Scheduling

Use Advanced Scheduling when you need to:

  • Add additional clinical days to an approved rotation.
  • Remove dates when students will not attend.
  • Change the start or end time for specific clinical days.
  • Account for holidays, weather closures, or schedule adjustments approved by your clinical partner.

Step 1: Access the Rotations Table

Near the top of your home page, click the "Rotations" button from the main navigation bar to open your rotations table.

User nav bar highlighting Rotation button.

Step 2: Edit the Desired Rotation

In your rotations table, locate the rotation you want to update and click the "Edit" (Pencil) icon to access the rotation request form.

Rotation Table highlighting Edit button.

Step 3: View the Schedule Tab

Click the new tab at the top of the rotation request form labeled "Schedule."

The Schedule tab displays each scheduled clinical day for the rotation. From here, you can:

  • Add additional clinical dates
  • Remove scheduled dates
  • Update shift start and end times

Click the green "Save" button to apply your schedule updates. Review your updated schedule after saving to confirm all clinical dates and shift times match your approved schedule.

Edit Rotation screen highlighting Custom Schedule section.

NOTE: Custom Scheduling adjusts the individual clinical dates and times within the approved rotation. It does not change the overall rotation start date, end date, unit, or student assignments.
